eDNA Metabarcoding Analysis of the Composition and Spatial Patterns of Fish Communities in the Sanbanxi Reservoir, China

The construction of a reservoir dam alters the environment within its basin, including composition fish community, biodiversity, and river ecosystem itself. This study was conducted in Sanbanxi Reservoir used eDNA metabarcoding technology comprising capture extraction, PCR amplification, sequencing database comparison analysis, other environmental DNA standardized analysis processes to characterize diversity communities assess their current status. A total 48 species were detected. Previously, 68 screened identified this based on reports Dai Gu. results for community showed that order Cypriniformes are still most dominant with 38 cyprinids, accounting 90.81% all OTUs. Carp no longer species, Spinibarbus denticulatus, Homalopteridae, Cobitidae, Sisoridae not detected, exception Misgurnus anguillicaudatus (Cobitidae).
